New To Happy Planner? What You Should Consider

New To Happy Planner? What You Should Consider

As you may already know I am now a distributor / stockist for Me and My Big Ideas (MAMBI) including the Happy Planner range which runs out of the USA. I fell in love with the brand as it offers a wide range of planner versions, designs, sizes and accessories that really made me excited. The Happy Planner range offers planners in 3 main sizes, namely BIG, classic and mini with the promotional keepsake planner being recently released in time for Christmas. What is also great about these planners is the sturdy laminated covers and the ring binding system which give you the flexibility to add and remove from the planner as you require and if you are adventurous enough you can also use the ring bindings for other book style items. If that was enough to excite you then you can see what I have in my online store:

When selecting the planner many people look for what the planner includes such as whether it is geared towards, weekly, monthly, budgeting, productivity, student, teacher, wellness or faith oriented tasks and I am sure there are more styles than what I have mentioned. As the Happy Planner range offers a wide range it is best to determine the style of planner you are looking for before deciding on other components such as size, orientation etc as you can quickly get side tracked by huge range of planners. Don't forget to consider whether you want you planner dated, undated, 12 month or 18 month as this is easy to overlook.

After you have narrowed down your type of planner it is now time to make your next big decision which is size...oddly enough this is the hardest decision you will make as different sizes may have different layouts and I find that you often love a larger or smaller planner but it doesn't really suit your needs. To give you a bit of a guide the BIG planner range should really be considered as a "desk" style planner, they are large, heavy and don't fit in any handbag I've ever purchased so if this is what you are planning to do I suggest getting out your measuring tape first. The Classic size planner is a middle of the road planner, great for desk and portability and if you have trouble seeing or writing small then this is likely the planner for you. It is still a bit bigger than most of my past planners and is about 5cm shorter than a portrait A4 piece of paper and about 1cm wider if you include the binding rings. Lastly is the Mini size planners these are about 1 cm skinnier and 2cm shorter than an A5 sheet of paper (A4 cut in half parallel with the short side). I like to think of the Mini as the portable diary, perfect for working in your lap and fits inside my single strap shoulder travel bag so perfect for most handbags.

Now what? Well now you get to think about layouts, do you want a weekly planner / monthly planner? Then you need to consider vertical, horizontal and the new vertical layouts that Happy Planner offer. If you have a special planner type such as budget or productivity then you will likely not have much in the way of options here. Another aspect to consider is the "deluxe" planners, these are planners bound with metal rings rather than plastic. You can always buy metal rings separately, they look great and they do help your planner open / close much more smoothly so something to consider. Your last consideration is what accessories you would like to go with your planner such as stickers, inserts, fill sheets and oh so much more. Buying a planner is a fun experience and once you get the bug it is hard to think of anything else but remember you are not alone.
