Welcome to my Paper Adventures Team Swap For August 2017 blog post! We have a regular team get together for a meeting and to swap a few creations every month. This also usually involves a "make and take" where we complete a project which the host sets up. This time we were lucky to go to Maxine's house.
Note: This blog post contains products purchased from Stampin’ Up!®. Latest Catalogue is here.
Today I thought I would share the Fancy Fold Gift Card Holder / Card I made for the team swap. I thought these gift card holders were a fantastic idea and they were really easy to make. As we had a choice on what we could create for our swap I wanted to try another item I haven't made before. Being part of this team is fantastic everyone is always helpful and excited to be at our team meetings and participate in team swaps. We all have our own special ways of making things and its great as we all learn new ideas from each other.
For this swap I made eight (8) gift card holders / cards and decided that with the release of the Holiday Catalogue I would showcase some Christmas ideas.
This gift card holder / card was a super quick and easy item to make. It features the Carols Of Christmas stamp set for the centre piece out of the new Holiday Catalogue and I have used the Layering Squares framelits out of the annual catalogue. The gift card holder is a suitable size for commonly available gift cards (roughly the same as a credit card). There is a one (1) inch half circle punched out on the inside of the card to make it easy to get the gift card in and out.
Six (6) of the eight (8) swaps were made using the Christmas Around The World DSP, the other two were with retired holiday DSP (Deck The Halls in Black). I really like the Christmas Around The World DSP in terms of the varied effects that can be achieved. In the photo below you can see the examples I made.
Hopefully you feel inspired to try making one of these Fancy Fold Gift Card Holders / Cards too. Be aware that to make these I used the following YouTube link as a basis for my designs:
It's exciting now that the Holiday Catalogue is available and anyone who is interested in a hard copy please contact me, otherwise you can see a PDF here.
