Paper Adventures July 2017 Team Blog Hop!

Paper Adventures July 2017 Team Blog Hop!

Hi and Welcome to the Paper Adventures July 2017 Team Blog Hop! It was decided for this blog that we would go with a theme using a combination of Red, White and Blue colours. When it was announced that we would be using these colours I had a bit of a freak out...a number of crumpled pieces of paper thrown at my partner who was calmly trying to watch TV. I should point out that many helpful people repeatedly pointed out to me that many flags use these colours...not helpful.

Note: This blog post contains products purchased from Stampin’ Up!®.

Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop Colour Combination

The colours I chose to use out of the combination were Night of Navy, Dapper Denim, Whisper White and Real Red cardstock.

Today I have 3 different items I have created to show you which I am proud to say do not look like flags. The first item is my Pop-out Window Fun Fold card which I made with the Night of Navy, Dapper Denim, Whisper White and Real Red cardstock. I've also used the Crafting Forever stamp set, Swirly Bird stamp set, and the Layering Squares framelits and Dapper Denim Ruched Ribbon. I've finished off the card by colouring in the stamped Pens with the Stampin' Write Markers and using the Aqua Painters on the front of the card. For this card I do recommend that you attach the internal fold to the back of the card front using cardstock offcuts to make brackets as this isn't shown in the YouTube clip. I chose to make the brackets to ensure the internal fold pivoted centrally in the square cut out.

The next item I have chosen to show you today is the Magazine Style Storage Box. This is a fantastic way to store all that 6 x 6 DSP. I have used the Dapper Denim, Whisper White and Real Red cardstock with matching ink. As with the card I have used the Crafting Forever stamp set, Swirly Bird stamp set and the Layering Squares framelits. For this item I chose to stamp fun images as I wanted this to go on my craft table and hold my 6 x 6 DSP. This was quite simple and fun to make and I love how there are dividers in this to separate different packs of DSP. This is something I decided to make as the 6 x 6 DSP is now sold as loose leaf rather than in booklets.

The last item I would like to show you today is this cute Treat Box. I thought I would stick to the same theme as the other items I have made to make it a cute set. This holds Embellishments rather than having them left lying around the craft table and looks fantastic next to the Magazine Style Storage Box. This also can be a treat holder as per the YouTube clip or even a phamplet holder.

Here are the YouTube links I used as a basis for my designs:

I hope you liked reading about these projects, they were a new challenge for me as I usually use DSP and this time I have stamped my own images instead. I have to say making these items were fun and will be a great addition to my craft table.

Thanks for reading my post now it's time to follow the blog hop onto our next lovely participant, Narelle Simm. I hope you enjoyed my blog.....it's time for me to go back to Secretly Scrapbooking!
