Hi and welcome to my It's Christmas And I Went All Out blog post!
As it was coming up to Christmas I had a few orders placed that I wanted to share with you. I made a collection of four (4) very different cards and a pair of festive earrings. I hope you enjoy reading about these items I made even though we are in the new year now.
Note: This blog post contains products purchased from Stampin’ Up!®. The latest catalogue is here.
For the orders I was asked to create four (4) different feature christmas cards as they were for loved ones and a pair of earrings to wear on Christmas day. I decided I would do a few different fancy folds for the cards as everyone knows how much I love to make fancy folds. The first card I created was a Stepper card which I have made previously in a different design.
I used Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White and Garden Green cardstock as a base for this card. I've dressed up the card with the Merry Little Christmas and Christmas Around The World DSP to match the theme. I stamped with the Santa's Suit stamp set (retitred), cut images out with the Santa Builder framelits and stamped the fill with Real Red and Basic Black Ink. To finish off the design I added the little sentiment stamped with Basic Black Ink on Whisper White cutout using the Classic Label Punch. One card down, now onto another card I've made before, inspired by one of my team members work.
For the second card I decided to make a Raised Double Fold Over Style Card. I used two different stamp sets and associated dies to complete. The sets I chose to use were the Santa's Suit stamp set with Santa Builder framelits and Santa's Sleigh stamp set with the Santa's Sleigh thinlits. I used *Old Olive, Whisper White and Crumb Cake cardstock then added Merry Little Christmas DSP and Years Of Cheer Specialty DSP. I loved making this card and found it quite cute.
I saw this Modified Bookfold card on youtube which I couldn't resist making I just love the Half Full stamp set but not so sure about the fussy cutting of images though lol. I used Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White and Garden Green cardstock with Be Merry DSP. For the sentiment I stamped the image with Basic Black ink and then cut out with the Oval framelits. I coloured in the wine bottle, glasses and holly using my Stampin' Blends which I find myself using fairly regularly now.
For the final card I chose to do a standard fold card which opens right to left and I used the Hearts Come Home stamp set with an embossed sentiment and the santa above the houses in silver. I used the Hometown Greetings Edgelits dies to cut out the little houses. The cardstock I used for this card includes Basic Black, Whisper White and Basic Grey. I finished the card off with the 3/8" Metallic-Edge Silver Ribbon in the form of a bow.
The final item I have to show you in my blog today is my cute little Christmas Santa earrings. I used the Cookie-Cutter stamp set (retired) and Cookie-Cutter Builder Punch to stamp and cut out the earrings from clear Shrinky Dink (not a Stampin' Up! product). I coloured in the images using some permenant markers and used jewellery components purchased from a local supplier. Be sure that if you try making some yourself that you dont forget to put a small hole in the top so you can attach the Shrinky Dink to the metal jewellry rings.
I hope this post has given you some more ideas to create your own fancy fold cards. I have listed the YouTube links below that I used as a basis for my design:
